Gowdey Reeds for Structo 600
It took a while, but my new reeds have arrived. After struggling with cleaning a very old and rusty reed, I ordered three new stainless ones from Gowdey Reed Company, 6, 12 and 15 dent (many thanks to sarah(at)sarahhaskell(dot)com for all her help with the order.
Here the 12 is in the Structo, ready and waiting for the RED cotton warp!
Unfortunately the beater is not adjustable, and the reeds were a little short in height. I had to shim them in place with strips of cardboard, so if I ever do this again, I'd spend a little more and have them 1/8 inch taller. The shims work, not a big deal. Many thanks to the advise from various blogs online, especially the all_things_structo Yahoo Group.
